Why SHOULDN’T getting proper medical treatment be a Test of Wills between you and your insurance company?

If I pay 53 dollars a week not including a 500 dollar deductible for just me.. ( not even starting with my families part)
I shouldn’t HAVE to have a test of wills to get them to pay for a procedure I need. They make almost everything into a "unnecessary " procedure so they can not pay.
Ex- last year I had surgery and my doctor wants to do a follow up. Basically they insert dye into me and see that everything is clear.
The surgery that saved my life was covered, But the follow up to make sure everything is still open is "elective".
Why shouldn’t getting proper medical care be a test of skill with a doctor?
Yep…
…nothing better than being prepped for emergency surgery and being on the phone with the greedy insurance companies – to beg them to cover you – at the same time, now is there?
Maybe it is the insurance industry’s enactment of "only the strong survive", eh?
Single-payer for all…now.
