find the laws for the state that your adoption was finalized in and start with your non identifying information. Unless that is your state is an open records state, 6 states are. Alaska, Kansas, New hampshire, Alabama, Maine, Oregon ( i think ) all give adoptees unconditional access to their original birth records. If its not one of those states then you’re going to have to do a search of your own.
Which could involve registering in a state registry ( costs alot ) hiring a private eye, or getting your non id and doing the search yourself which is what i advocate for just because i feel like paying money is another way for the industry to profit off of us.
whatever you do, be sure to go to http://www.isrr.net this is the worlds largest reunion registry and its free. A MUST!

If your adopted parents can remeber who that attorney was you should try to contact him/her. Im sure he/she could possibly provide something helpful.
i was adopted in the state of ky in 1975 seven months after my birth mother died there were five of us i was adopted with my youngest brother the oldest three were adopted together as well…i looked for them from the time i turned 18 and would run out of leads..i finally met my sister and oldest brother this year after i paid someone to find them..and to be honest with you when i first started looking had i known someone could find them in less than a week..i would have done it years ago..i am different than before i knew who they were..i cant describe it..something in me calmed down i know where i came from i found my moms grave and met the man who claims to be my birth father..im good..i suggest seriously you do the same thing..it is such a relief to know and its so hard to find things on your own ..especially if blind adoption is basically like mine was sealed forever..good luck in your search
edit: my piece of mind was 750 bucks..they might have profited but it was damn worth it…
